Indian actress, animal rights activist and founder of the NGO, ‘Blue Cross of Hyderabad’, Amala Akkineni stands firm in the fight against GM food. From protesting field trials of GM food, to being ready to be arrested for the same cause, she has supported Greenpeace in various actions demanding for a GM free India.

Hi Amala
I do not know what is this GE means and its effect on human beings.I do not know what is the reason for Nestle to continue in our country. I do not have time to study and understand that now.
Why I am writing to You is to look at the source of the issue. If its is clear that GE food is what is needed for human. I am sure any human being will do what is required and people at Nestle are no exception. May there are personal concerns that needs to be dealt.
My invitation is instead of pressure, etc we can have a platform for dialogue and fulfill everyone’s concern.
Thank You
I strongly soopose the use of Geneticall enginneered food, though it is good in taste, it spoils our health. We should act before we suffer.

Thanks Nagaraj for that strong sentiment against Genetically Modified food, but fact of the matter is that it also does not taste any better !!
I’m all for banning the propagation of GE food to an unquestioning and barely educated market, but where does Nestle say they use it?????
Someone picked this campaign and channeled a lot of money, time, web space and riled supporters into it and now GP has to find the most ridiculous and twisted ways to keep the campaign afloat.
A word to GP: Honesty would help, come clean… Do not slander a company for something they don’t do. Reword your poll statement. Apologize to the company and clear their name.
Reaffirm the stance of the poll-ers, hopefully that would be ‘Indians never would want GE food’.
And then bow out!
Maybe you’d salvage some of your credibility and those of the poor ‘educated’ celebrities you’ve roped in, who by the looks of your site are made to seem like they support the ban Nestle campaign!
