    Ashoc Chandwani

  2. Jaideep Gandhi says:

    Please stop this immediately.

  3. Saibal Gupta says:

This ought to be stopped. Olive Ridleys were in danger anyway and this is another major trauma.

  4. Need to save Olive Ridleys which are on the verge of extinction. Nay, it is a compulsion.
Save the earth and our environment. Tatas should either stop altogether or do what can be done to save the Olive Ridleys.

  5. Devavrata says:

With every passing day, the various species of fauna and flora are disappearing from the face of the earth. The turtles must be saved at all costs.

  6. yashwant says:

saving turtles is necessary for maintaining eco balance..
    save turtles

  7. Anushri Kumar says:

Its a hope so sincere that Mr Ratan Tata realises that with the construction of the Port at Dhamra , we would be loosing the GEMs of the ocean, Olive Ridley Turtles. SAVE the OLIVE RIDLEY TURTLE…SAVE US …

  8. Stop this dangerous play with nature. Save the earth . Live and let live all the living beings. The Olive Ridley Turtles are not only a kind of animal only but they are helpful to mankind. If Ratan Tata thinks that the port is a nessecity item for their business, THEY must save the turtles first in any cost to protect and keep proper balance in our nature. None can forget their duties so easily.

  9. Prativad says:

All must be aware of this…this information must spread..

  10. Aninda says:

Id Like to see the Tata’s put up a website with all their responses to this issue.

  11. Indrajit Hajra says:

If the Tata Nano factory can be shifted from West Bengal to Sanand for some damn cheap
political game without hampering it’s launch schedule and profit margin, then why the
relocation of a port can not be reconsidered when it seriously threatens the oblitaration of an
    endangered species.
Mr. Tata, when a turtle is killed it suffers the same amount of pain and same amount of agony
that a human being can feel if being executed….The only difference being a turtle can not
create a roadblock or set up a dharna under some great political banner which can force
you to withdraw your plans as it was in the case of singur.

Being a far superior and intelligent racial creature will it seem being very much smart in
acting deaf when an animal race is facing the threat of getting wiped out in front of our
eyes just for making your own personal profit.

Mr. Tata will it really set the example of enriching the Indian heritage and culture by dissolving
into it like a spoonful of sugar in a glass of water…. was’nt it the tagline that your new
employees are taught when they join your company.

Mr. Tata, do you really think you got such a strong unified support when the terrorists tried to
demolish one of our well respected landmark only because of the fact that it is gigantic and
elegant. No there was another sentiment working too, that it belong ed to the TATA’s , our
country’s only business empire who thinks for the soil also.
Will, this repute work further if the port at dhamra oblitarates an entire species after so much
    of request.

PLEASE RECONSIDER THIS OPTION Mr. TATA…..PLEASE

  12. balaji says:

TATAS have been a household name in the Country fr decades.hope they do not spoil
    the homes of the Turtles/

  16. vasanth says:

Typical greenpeace BS! The only way all of ecological balance can be maintained (as god intended) is if we humans ditch all our orgnaised way of life/society and start living cave man’s life. That is not going to happen, So all the hoopla is waste of time and typical lipservice activism.

  17. Indrajit says:

Are we so blind Vasanth ? I just want you to recall what father of the Nation had said, “There is enough for everyones need but not for a single person’s greed.” Do you understand this or this is also a BS! You know, the air you are breathing because it is just clean enough so you can still breath it because of the Greenpeace kind of BS! Our country is a free country because of such kind of true hearted activism! And do you believe you can survive in a totally out of balance ecology! Have some sense! The same goes for TATA too….

  18. auro says:

Vasanth, do you work for Monsanto? then you’re excused.

  19. Vikhyath Kamath says:

Hi, What are Olive Ridley Turtles? I mean why are these Turtles so important… I am for a clean enviorment and all that. But can we not create an alternate enviorment where these turtles can be moved and bred in this age of Technology. Ask TATA to sponser such a movement. I am sure that will be cheaper for him. Comon dont expect TATA to be Mother Teresa, he is business man…..

Also, Cant u guys get support from some news channel… like NDTV or Times Now…

  20. sushil_yadav says:

Industrial Society Destroys Mind and Environment.

Industrial Society is destroying necessary things [Animals, Trees, Air, Water and Land] for making unnecessary things [consumer goods].

“Growth Rate” - “Economy Rate” - “GDP”
    These are figures of “Ecocide”.
These are figures of “crimes against Nature”.
These are figures of “destruction of Ecosystems”.
These are figures of “Insanity, Abnormality and Criminality”.

The link between Mind and Social / Environmental-Issues.

The fast-paced, consumerist lifestyle of Industrial Society is causing exponential rise in psychological problems besides destroying the environment. All issues are interlinked. Our Minds cannot be peaceful when attention-spans are down to nanoseconds, microseconds and milliseconds. Our Minds cannot be peaceful if we destroy Nature [Animals, Trees, Air, Water and Land].

Destroy the system that has killed all ecosystems.

Destroy the society that plunders, exploits and kills earth 365 days of the year and then celebrates Earth Day.

Chief Seattle of the Indian Tribe had warned the destroyers of ecosystems way back in 1854 :

Only after the last tree has been cut down,
Only after the last river has been poisoned,
Only after the last fish has been caught,
Only then will you realize that you cannot eat money.

  21. I am customer of a tata car and now i feel very guilty for that .So Mr. Ratan Tata it’s a shame for name TATA

  22. Mahathi says:

We sure need our natural heritage back! Way to go GreenPeace!! We can soon hope for a safer haven for all of our wildlife!! Goodluck for everything!!!!!

  23. Amaninder Singh says:

I always thought Tata is an ethical company.

  24. Tushar Phadke says:

Has green peace looked at the EIA report and EMP’s taken and in implementation at Dhamra port ?

Its easier to say its wrong and blame somebody but we should not overlook at the thought process TATA must have applied, as we all respect the TATA culture and should also know the other side of coin.

  25. Yash Saxena says:

Who owns Dhamra Port Site? Tatas came there an year ago..Olive Ridley Turtles have coming there since last 3 million years!

  26. sabu singh says:

If Tata says ta ta to the turtles. we should say na na to the nano

In September 2008, after heightened protests and nearly 100,000 dedicated Greenpeace cyberactivists calling on TATA to relocate the port, the TATAs agreed to a dialogue with those opposing the Dhamra port. In the ensuing negotiations, TATA agreed 'in principle' to an independent assessment, yet it continues to build the port, and with every passing day, the turtles' future looks dimmer… That's why Greenpeace and other groups are calling on TATA to immediately halt construction and commission an independent assessment.
